It’s a wrap!!! The Blast from the Past  Rally was a wonderful rally!  The Cowlitz County Event Center was a new venue for us. Mike Randall, Savannah, Dawn, Kim and the entire staff did a terrific job of welcoming and helping us in any way they could. A big THANK YOU to them!

On behalf of your 2017 Northwest Area Executive Board, a very big THANK YOU to all the volunteers, attendees, vendors, and coach dealers who made this 2017 Northwest Area Rally a rally to remember.

We have received many comments, from our attendees, vendors, and coach dealers, on how well organized and exciting this rally was.  Several new seminars and crafts were added and seemed to be well attended.  The positive attitude and friendliness of the volunteers made this a rally so successful!  Thank you again!

As I write this small newsletter, we are on our way back to the wonderful Northwest, from attending the 96th International Convention in Indianapolis, IN.   I am happy to report that we had 26 voting delegates at the convention; 87% of our Northwest Area Chapters were represented. The delegates parked together and had some good Northwest Area fun.  A convention report will be sent out in a few days.  After Indianapolis, most of the delegates went to the FMCA campground for three nights; we had a potluck, went out to dinner, went sightseeing and hosted a lunch at the Clough Pike FMCA Headquarters for the FMCA staff.  We are now on a small roving rally as we head West.

Andy and I will be home for about 10 days before we start our August and September chapter visits. In those seven weeks, we will be visiting 15 or 16 chapters, going on two site visits to negotiate future contracts and attending the Business and Planning Meeting to be held at the Cowlitz County Event Center from September 26 – 28, 2017.  At the meeting, there will be elections held for Senior Vice President, Secretary, and 1 Vice President position.  Also, this will be the first planning meeting for the Northwest Area 2018 Rally to be held at the Mill Hotel & Casino, on Coos Bay in North Bend, OR from June 21 -24, 2018.  The theme waschosen by the delegates in April:  Milling Around on Coos Bay.  The logo for this rally is being worked on and should be complete real soon.  Your Northwest Area Executive Board and the Mill Hotel & Casino Staff are working on some new and exciting activities and seminars for this rally.  If you are unable to attend the meetings, please send me an email if you have any suggestions you would like the Executive Board to explore. Remember this is YOUR rally!

As you know, each of our Northwest Area Chapters can send 2 coaches to these meetings. The President and National Director usually attend but the President may send a temporary delegate, if they are unable to attend.  The Area pays for the camping, 2 mornings of coffee and pastries and 2 dinners.  We would like for you to attend.  The Northwest Area Secretary, Bobbi Radford has sent the information out to the chapters, please respond as soon as possible; cooper.radford@gmail.com Thank you for all the support and kindness you have shown me and your entire Northwest Area Executive Board!  You are the very best Area!  Please feel free to call or email me anytime; 503-530-0166 or kbalogh@fmca.com.

Happy and Safe Travels!

Regarding the Indianapolis International Convention, (July 12 - 15, 2017) we have a group of delegates that are getting together the evening prior to entry into the Indiana State Fairgrounds.  They will be caravanning to the rally and parking together on the grounds.  After the convention, we are going to Cincinnati and camping at the FMCA Round Bottom Campground.  We have 15 full service sites reserved at no cost to you.  We are, also, having a tour of the FMCA National Office and will be having lunch with the entire FMCA Staff.  If you are planning to attend the convention, please contact the Northwest Area Secretary, Bobbi Radford.  Bobbi's email address is cooper.radford@gmail.com or phone her at 206-714-1976.

We are still looking for Northwest Area Members, who are attending the convention, to represent chapters, as Temporary Delegates, at the Governing Board Meeting.  Also, advise Bobbi, if you are interested.

Thank you for your continued support of the Northwest Area!

TO Northwest Area Presidents, National Directors, Alternate National Directors, and Delegates

Good Afternoon!

Attached please find the minutes of the Annual General Meeting held in Longview, WA on April 11, 2017.    The minutes will be posted on the Northwest Area website, www.fmcanw.org soon.

At the meeting, the delegate chose   “MILLING AROUND COOS BAY “ , as the theme for the 2018 Northwest Area Rally to be held at the Mill Hotel & Casino on Coos Bay, OR,  June 21 – 24, 2018.    We are now asking any Northwest Area members to submit artwork for the program book cover and the rally pin.  I ask that you share this information with your chapter members and ask them to send their ideas to me at kbalogh@fmca.com .

After the meetings, we were able to secure transportation to Rochester, Washington’s Lucky Eagle Casino by bus on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. A $10 slot credit and $5 food credit will be given to each person going on the bus. Sign ups are being taken by email to your Northwest Area Secretary, Bobbi Radford, cooper.radford@gmail.com on a first come, first serve basis.  There are only 41 seats on the bus; therefore, please get this information out, as soon as possible, to your chapter members.  Check out the Northwest Area website, www.fmcanw.org for other exciting information coming up!

For those thinking about attending the 96th International Convention in Indianapolis in July, please contact Bobbi Radford at the email address above.  We still need Temporary Delegates to represent chapters that do not have members attending. In addition, we have arranged a campground the night before we caravan into the grounds.  As you will recall, from previous emails, anyone attending the convention with our group is invited to come with us to Cincinnati; stay in the FMCA campground for 3 nights, tour the National Office and have lunch with the staff.  It will be a fun extension to the convention!

If you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call (503-530-0166) or email me.

Once again, I would like to thank you all for your support and friendship!
